Diagnostic and therapeutic facilities

The EPI has developed, since its foundation more than 100 years ago, from an asylum to a modern epilepsy centre with a wide spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic facilities at its disposal. These state of the art facilities are based on the present knowledge of epilepsy, and are continually up-dated as required. Our centre can therefore offer every patient the required examinations, therapy and counselling on a tailored individual basis.

Facilities available:

• medical examination and therapy

• neurophysiological investigations (both standard and specialised EEG examinations)

• medical chemical laboratory

• neuropsychological examination, advice and psychotherapy

• psychological consultation and therapy

• early education, family counselling and child psychotherapy

• educational counselling and teaching of children with special needs

• physiotherapy

• rehabilitation

• social and vocational advice

• care, support and occupational therapy in the long-term sector and in the sheltered workshop

   as well as in ergo-therapy and activation therapy

• parish services

Approximately 430 employees work in the EPI. We encourage the training and further education of our employees in order to improve the quality of our work. As an Epilepsy Centre our strength lies in the interdisciplinary co-operation of our various specialised fields. Just as important is the co-operation with outside specialists.
